10 Common Causes of Being Tired
Take a look at this list of 10 common causes of being tired and fatigued that I found on one of my favorites sites WebMD.com.
I was surprised to see on the list both allergies and food intolerance as I have suffered from both of these. My preference is to go the natural route by eliminating the food culprits to find relief rather than through medication. I will share more below about what I have eliminated!
- Allergies and hay fever can cause headaches and nasal congestion.
- Anemia can cause dizziness and irritability.
- Depression and anxiety can cause feeling hopeless and worthless and nervousness.
- Fibromyalgia can cause deep muscle pain, sleep problems and anxiety.
- Food allergies and intolerance can cause continued exhaustion and sleepiness.
- Heart disease can cause exhaustion with an activity that should be easy.
- Rheumatoid arthritis can cause morning stiffness and inflamed joints and pain.
- Sleep apnea can cause snoring and feeling exhausted upon awakening.
- Type 2 diabetes can cause unusual weight loss and increased thirst and hunger.
- Under active thyroid (Hypothyroidism) can cause weight gain and feeling run down.
FACT: According to the American Thyroid Foundation, approximately 17% of all women will have a thyroid disorder by age 60. And most won’t know it.

As I mentioned earlier in this post I found by eliminating certain foods from my diet I now have relief from my health conditions which includes anemia, migraines, low blood sugar, allergies and food intolerance.
My allergies are to dust, mold and shell fish. By eliminating dairy I no longer have the stuffy nose. In addition cleaning with green products and having house plants helps keep my home somewhat dust and mold free.
My food intolerance’s were uncovered from a routine blood lab report which lead to a GI scope. The scope confirmed that I was NOT celiac but that I did have gluten intolerance. Hence became the start of my gluten-free diet back in 2009!
