Do YOU want to turn back time and live young? It’s so easy! The real way to both look and feel young is from what you put on your plate! Here are 4 foods that are at the top of my anti-aging superfoods list.
Produce: Dark Leafy Greens
Dark leafy greens including my favorite spinach are rich in vitamins A, B6, C, E, and K plus zinc, iron and other phytonutrients. As the body age’s vitamin K helps reduce bone loss and prevent fractures. Dark greens also keep your vision sharp, protect the cells of the body’s colon, is anti-inflammatory and heart-healthy.
Protein: Skinless Poultry
Eating plenty of skinless chicken, turkey breasts, pork, and beans will keep you feeling full after meals and help you hang on to your metabolism boosting muscle. Poultry is high in both minerals zinc and selenium which promotes collagen production and balances hormones. Also provides defense against free radical damage keeping your cells young and decreases the aging process.

Omega-3: Flaxseed
Maybe you are not fond of fish so try omega-3s from plant sources, like walnuts, pumpkin seeds and flaxseed. I like using flaxseed because it’s so easy to add to protein smoothies, oatmeal, yogurt, salads, and soups. Flaxseeds are a great source of fiber, magnesium, potassium and may protect against chronic diseases like heart and diabetes, and melanoma, breast and prostate cancers.

Legumes: Black Beans
Black beans are a great source of fiber and protein both which help control the appetite keeping you slim. Beans rank low on the glycemic index helping to maintain normal blood sugar levels. Some other common legumes include; edamame, black-eyed peas, chickpeas (garbanzo beans), lentils and soy beans. Note it’s best to soak and cook your beans and avoid the canned ones as they tend to raise the blood sugar levels.
