Glowing, healthy skin! We all want it and hope to achieve it. Here’s 15 tricks to get your skin glowing now!
15 Tricks for Glowing Skin
1. Eat Healthier
Select whole food greens, vegetables and fruits from all the colors of the rainbow for healthier glowing skin. Add in your favorite protein and include healthy fats rich in antioxidants like avocados, almond butter and olive oil.
2. Dry Brush Your Body
Skip the shower loofah and body scrubs, exfoliate off dead skin with a natural bristle brush. Gently but firmly brush your entire body starting at your feet moving in long sweeping motions toward your heart. Reduces cellulite, unclogs pores and stimulates your lymphatic system.
3. Hydrate with Water
Drink lots of water daily! Dehydration causes dry cracked lips and dull plump skin. For an instant glow drink warm water with lemon each morning to remove toxins from your body.
4. Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!
To combat the signs of aging dry skin, moisturize your body from head to toe every day. Apply facial moisturizer every morning and night.
5. Reduce Sugar/Carbs
Eating a diet high in sugar and carbs raises your insulin levels and speeds up the aging process. Reduce your blood sugar spikes by cutting back for healthy aging and younger looking skin!
6. Healing Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera seals in moisture, forming a protective layer to promote healing and prevent dehydration. It is especially effective on sun damaged skin providing an immediate cooling effect.
7. Glow with Serums
Serums absorb quickly and penetrate deeply to supercharge the skin. Most contain ingredients that boost collagen, brighten skin, hydrate and provide antioxidant protection giving skin a healthy look.
8. Sleep and Wrinkles
Sleeping on your side increases wrinkles on the cheeks and chin and sleeping face down furrows your brow. For smoother skin and less wrinkles sleep on your back!
9. Undereye Creams
Use an eye cream that contains collagen to help firm and strengthen undereye skin to minimize puffiness, dark circles and wrinkles. Aging causes a breakdown of collagen leading to thinner skin around the eyes.
10. Sunscreen SPF’s
Daily use of sunscreen is important to prevent future dulling of the skin but skip the SPF’s above 50. Better to reapply sunscreen using SPF 15 to 50 while outside than using higher SPF’s which provide minimal additional coverage.
11. Natural Deodorant
Suggest switching to a natural deodorant containing baking soda, cornstarch, mineral salts and pure essentials oils. Theses ingredients are more effective at preventing bacteria causing odor found in sweat from developing rather then artificially clogging pores like antiperspirants do.
12. Healthy Nails
Got peeling nails and hangnails? The condition of your nails can be an indicator of your inner health. Be sure to get enough vitamins and minerals in your diet and supplement with water-soluble vitamin B biotin and fish oil.
13. Vitamin Supplements
You know the saying, “You get what you pay for.” Spend a little extra money for high-quality supplements from a health food market because the well-being of your body matters! Include a daily fish oil and watch your skin develop a natural glow.
14. Safer Shaving Cream
Look for shaving products with natural ingredients for a closer shave without the chemical skin irritants. Try soothing ingredients like organic avocado oil or coconut oil, shea butter, witch hazel, camphor and menthol.
15. Toxic Personal Care
Ingredients do matter! What’s applied to the skin is adsorbed into the body. Read labels on personal care products for soap, lip products, moisturizers, toothpaste and sunscreen. Avoid these chemicals linked to cancer and health issues; triclosan, triclocarban, oxybenzone, retinyl palmitate, retinyl acetate and retinoic acid.
